You’ll need to have at least an associate degree in design or an equivalent certification. A previous internship in design is a plus.

You must be facile with design software and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

This position is a full-time in-house position.

Job Responsibilities

  • Research furniture and fabrics options from which Senior/Lead Designer will make selections
  • Construct a list of any remaining items that have not been selected and discuss with Senior/Lead Designer and select options and present to designer for final selection, Make reselection as necessary.
  • Set up and take down presentation, returning any unselected items to the librarian.
  • Compile a list of fabrics, wallcoverings, and finish samples to be ordered, and order them accurately.
  • Create digital presentations using InDesign and Photoshop.
  • Confirm that furniture selections work in the space (on plan) and share these findings with the CAD dept. Adjust CAD if necessary.
  • Accurately review and confirm that dimensions/description matches the client proposal prior to presenting for lead designer to sign off on.
  • Verify manufacturer is able to execute on designer’s custom choice specifications.
  • Prior to making selections, review job for full scope of project with the entire team including CAD/Design and purchasing.
  • All of your communication is timely and your communicated information is accurate.

Skills & Attributes

  • Associates in design or equivalent certification
  • Must be skilled at following design concepts and color schemes
  • Must demonstrate familiarity with all products provided by designers (fabric, leather, and carpet qualities and types.)
  • Strong research and computer skills; Microsoft Office Proficiency, InDesign and Photoshop software.
  • Strong sense of style and creativity
  • Must have excellent time management, organizational, and multi-tasking skills. Dress the part of a Design professional. Adherence to relevant health & safety procedures.
  • Proficient spoken and written English. Superb listening skills. Able to resolve concerns professionally and gracefully.

As the Purchasing Coordinator for P&H Interiors you are the person that facilitates the acquisition of project specified items. Your ability to read construction documents, question things that puzzle you or don’t make sense, following up, completing documentation thoroughly and accurately along with your attention to detail are what make you successful in this role. You love to solve problems and uncover whatever you need to know to get the job done and done correctly. As someone who understands that asking questions, research, prioritization, organizational skills and driving clarity are your best tools. You’re someone who thrives on being busy and enjoys a fast-paced environment that showcases your ability to identify and resolve challenges while working on multiple projects simultaneously.

Your growing knowledge of textiles, custom furniture, window treatments etc. and your comfort with quotes, purchase orders and detailed specs is essential to this role. Most importantly you know that the quality of your relationship with your team members, vendors, the trades, and craftsman are what create peace of mind for everyone involved, allows projects to run smoothly and ultimately makes this role so fulfilling.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Translate images for custom pieces to words and provide detailed specifications per item within the project proposal
  • Solicit quotes for custom furnishings, custom built-ins, custom window treatments etc. by interpreting the concept including all components of item’s design
  • Check current stock, pricing, and extended lead times
  • Secure the most current pricing furnishings, accessories, wall covering, etc. with surcharges, tariffs, minimum order fees etc. for client proposals
  • Secure shipping and receiving quotes
  • Generate, process, and review each purchase order for accuracy prior to submitting
  • Create, organize, and upload quotes to client folder in the server
  • Every purchase order has the associated quote attached
  • Create two copies of proposal books for clients as directed by the design team.

Competencies

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Interior Design preferred
  • 2+ years experience in purchasing and construction preferred
  • Have a clear understanding of construction documents and spatial visualization
  • Knowledge of textiles, decorative & privacy window treatment design, custom pillows & bedding, reupholstering of furniture, custom furniture & built-ins, wallcovering, lighting, etc. preferred
  • Excellent time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Requires professional and effective speaking, listening and written communication skills to drive clarity and accuracy
  • Work effectively in a team environment, self-directed yet able to ask for help when necessary
  • Helpful, optimistic, focused, driven to accuracy, and take psychological ownership of what you say and do. Punctual, meticulous, and reliable
  • Dress the part of working in a design professional environment. Adherence to relevant health & safety procedures

We are looking for an experienced Interior Architectural Designer to design and execute high-end luxury custom home projects. You will start from conceptual development and liaise with team members and clients managing and executing the design.

Our design method is to build a space that is livable, functional, reflective of our clients and their lifestyle, within consented budget and timetable parameters.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for designing and producing a set of ID working drawings using AutoCAD including all details for architectural interior projects. This includes furniture plans, framing plans, electrical plans, Reflected Ceiling plans, molding plans and flooring plans. Interior elevations showing design details.
  • Maintain/organize project files, schedules and specifications.
  • Site visits and assisting in construction supervision.
  • Site measures of existing conditions if necessary and producing drawings of same.
  • Collaborate with team, in office and with outside consultants.
  • Proficient in time management to facilitate working on multiple projects simultaneously.

Skills

  • 5 years of proven working experience in designing interior spaces (renovations and or new construction)
  • Strong technical and practical AutoCAD skills with an understanding of architectural conventions, including floor plans, elevations, sections, RCP, electrical and millwork.
  • Experience and interest in traditional and modern detailing
  • Strong understanding of and proficiency in producing all schedules
  • Job site experience including working with architects, builders, measuring and producing documents.
  • 3D CAD, SketchUp or other design programs a plus
  • BS degree in Interior Design or similar
