Coral Springs Community Garden

On October 7, 2023, the Coral Springs Community Garden held a ribbon cutting celebrating the expansion of the garden and the addition of a long awaited pavilion. The pavilion was dedicated by Susan Connor, CEO of P&H Interiors in memory of her late son, Kevin Connor, an organic farmer. The donation for construction was made by The Levitetz Family Foundation.

The expansion nearly doubles the number of garden beds available to rent for the community to sow vegetables, plants and flowers. The pavilion will host classes, workshops, field trips and more to encourage further knowledge about Florida gardening and sustainable practices.

Founded in 2009, the Community Garden is a joint effort between the City of Coral Springs, the Rotary Club and local volunteers. More information can be found at CoralSprings.gov/Garden.

Hammock Street Church, Boca Raton

Donating our time and talent as a community service, P&H Interiors recently completed the architectural design and interiors for Hammock Street Church in Boca Raton.  Designing the two-story building was a labor of love for our team who worked to create interiors that were both beautiful and functioning for church members and guests.  With a serene color palette as a backdrop, we chose textured fabrics, furnishings and floor coverings that worked with the overall design and flow of the project.  For the church’s Narthex or meeting space, we selected contemporary LED circular lighting, moveable upholstered seating which can be accessed from both sides,  a coffee bar and a “Prayer & Praises” wall where parishioners can leave personalized prayer requests for the ministry.  In the main sanctuary, we chose undulating fabric panels to surround the sound booth, adding design interest and increasing the acoustic quality.  Blue fabric near the pulpit provides a flowing design and a focal point.  Upstairs, an under-the-sea mural by artist Kristine Lucco creates a whimsical setting with long-term durability for the children’s space, where four classrooms and a worship center for children under 12 are included.  Bright colors were chosen for the walls, seating and indoor play stations, making church an enjoyable experience for even the youngest members of the congregation.

“As a member of Hammock Street Church, I was happy that P&H could participate in this unique design project which was created to mirror Pastor Russell’s inspirational messages,” noted Susan Connor, president of P&H.  “We have received so many compliments as well as words of appreciation.  It was a privilege for our team to contribute our design talents to this wonderful House of Worship, which works with such local ministries as Food for the Poor, Feed My Starving Children, Habitat for Humanity and Boca Helping Hands.”

Advent Church, Lantana

A joint venture with SRD Construction, P&H Interiors designed the transformation of this traditional church to be more relevant, inspirational and contemporary.  Our team reworked the interiors to enhance the functionality and aesthetics for church members of all ages.

We opened up the floor plan, repositioned the space for seating and redesigned the sanctuary as well as community areas.  Because the Prayers & Praises feature has been so well received at other congregations, we included this feature in the meeting space.

Known as the church without walls, our designs reflected Advent Church’s involvement in local outreach programs such as: Alzheimer’s Community Care, Boca Helping Hands, Family Promise, Food For the Poor, Freedom Challenge, Lutheran Church of South Sudan and Village of Hope & Medical Center in Haiti.

“We truly enjoyed the collaboration with SRD Construction on this meaningful project,” noted Susan Connor.  “We were very happy to complete this community service design and provide a beautiful setting to the congregation, which serves so many in this region of Florida.”

Habitat for Humanity

“Not Just a Good Deed… This is Life Changing”

These words are the slogan for Builders Blitz… the nationwide effort by Habitat for Humanity and their multitude of volunteers to change the lives of families by providing them with the opportunity of homeownership. In an effort to give back to our community for allowing us to celebrate our 20-year anniversary, P&H corporate president Susan Connor made a phone call earlier this year, asking Habitat for Humanity if we could participate in some way through their charitable organization.

Once Habitat’s South Palm Beach Chapter chose their lucky two families, Susan met with both recipients ( Sabrina Bland and Yajaira Correa ) to find out about their lifestyles, favorites colors, children’s hobbies, etc. P&H donated the upgraded floor tiles for both homes. Working in tandem with K. Hovnanian Homes and Current Builders, the construction was completed on both Delray Beach houses the first week of June during the week-long Builders Blitz. Then, P&H set out to make history in our anniversary year with an unprecedented effort. The P&H Interiors staff and generous volunteer associates gathered at the site to provide the biggest surprise of all! Both houses were installed with full furnishings, bedding, towels, custom murals, artwork and accessories.

For the two working mothers, this was their dream come true! Their very own Home Sweet Home. They can now know the joy of homeownership, and they have beautiful homes in which to raise their families. The tears of joy from Sarina and Yajaira are something that can’t be bought, at any price. This wasn’t just a good deed… this was life changing, for all of us!
